APP General Surgery Inpatient/UKHC

Job Summary

The General, Endocrine & Metabolic Surgery (GEMS) Inpatient APP collaborates with a multidisciplinary healthcare team and functions as a member of the general surgery management team. This requires managing all aspects of patients from admission to the operating room, and discharge. The APP will work as part of a team with faculty, trainees, and students. The APP will be responsible for inpatient care including evaluating consults in the emergency room and hospital setting, daily visits, and coordination of discharge. Documentation in the electronic health record is required. This position will also assist in the operating room. Outpatient responsibilities may include assistance with faculty clinics and/or autonomy for evaluation of hospital follow-up care. The position is primarily daytime although occasional evening work is required once per week (currently Thursday) until approximately 7pm.
