About the role
The Trauma/Gen Surgery Inpt Weekend APP works within the adult progressive and acute care areas and is an integral member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. The APP functions primarily in managing critically and acutely ill adults and serves as a resource throughout UKHC for intensive care interventions.
Responsibilities
- Manages critically and acutely ill adults
- Serves as a resource for intensive care interventions
- Works within a service-aligned team managing patient care through discharge
- Might have responsibilities for the same patient population in the ICU and outpatient setting
Requirements
- No experience required
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) Certification or enrollment in Post Master’s ACNP program within one year of hire
- Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C)
Qualifications
- MSN for Nurse Practitioners
- BS for Physician Assistants
Skills
The APP has a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and education and is responsible for ensuring safe, quality care. The APP demonstrates an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and takes responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation.
