About the Role

This Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant) position provides direct patient care through comprehensive assessment, physical diagnosis, and therapeutic management of high-acuity critically ill patients in the ICU setting. The APP will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team including faculty, fellows, residents, and nursing staff to develop, implement, and coordinate individualized plans of care informed by current clinical guidelines, best practices, and patient-centered goals.

Responsibilities

• Performs history and physical examinations, formulation of care plans, ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic tests, and provides education to patients and their families.
• Documents clinical encounters clearly, precisely, and in a timely manner.
• Coordinates the care of patients to provide safe, effective, efficient, and timely patient-centered care.
• Liaises between visiting nurses, clinical staff, and consult services. Care plans and execution should encompass the entire service to tie it together.
• Consults with physicians or surgeons regarding the care of patients for more complex diagnoses.
• Acts as an educator and serves as a clinical resource for staff through consultation, formal and informal education, review of literature, and participation in seminars and conferences.
• Works in a collaborative relationship with other health professionals to determine health needs of patients and families.
• Demonstrates and role models an interdisciplinary collaborative approach to patient care.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Nursing required.
• Nurse Practitioner License required.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• 0-1 years of related work experience required.
• MA Board authorization to practice as an APRN NRSG.
• Valid prescriptive authority from both the MA DPH-DCP and Federal DEA.
• American Heart Association - Basic Life Support Certificate.
• Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a teaching hospital and specialty area expertise.

Pay

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay: $64.00 - $240,000.00. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, including seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
