AP Specialist
About the role

Responsibilities
- Process payment of all vendor invoices in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to payment terms set by the purchasing department and in accordance with Company policy.
- Verify invoices against purchase order receipts and details, ensuring delivery of goods or services rendered.
- Validate any uncertain invoice items and price discrepancies with purchasing department, or appropriate requester.
- Submit payment files to the applicable banking interface.
- Maintain heightened awareness of unusual or high-risk transactions and escalate concerns.
- Continue to improve payment process procedures.
- Communicate promptly with stakeholders and proactively resolve open inquiries.
- Ensure that all invoices and supporting documents are maintained for Accounts Payable in the ERP system.
- Ensure that all payments are properly reviewed, approved, and supported before processing.
- Review AP Aging and goods received reporting for unpaid invoices and outstanding receipts, respectively.
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts.
- Collaborate with other departments as needed to follow up on questions or requests for data.
- Prepare a schedule of invoices/expenses that need to be accrued for month end reporting.
Qualifications
- Associates degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of Accounts Payable or relevant accounting experience in a high-volume environment preferred.
Skills
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, including invoice validation, three-way matching, and payment controls.
- Ability to follow established procedures and maintain compliance with internal control and approval requirements.
- High level of integrity and professional judgment, with a proactive approach to identifying and preventing errors or unauthorized transactions.
- Ability to manage sensitive financial information with discretion and accuracy.
- ERP experience and Microsoft Excel proficiency.

The expected salary range for this position is $25-$30/hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
