About the role
The Agency of Transportation seeks a District Administrative & Technical Assistant IV. This position will work in the Capital Region at the Berlin office. Occasional travel to regional garages is required for computer-related tasks.
Responsibilities
- Provide clerical and technical assistance, including opening and distributing mail, processing payroll, and handling project/invoice payments.
- Answer phone inquiries from the public and assist users with computer operations and device troubleshooting.
- Assist with the installation and configuration of hardware and software applications.
- Train users on the VAMIS program.
- Serve as backup support to administrative personnel and provide office coverage in their absence.
- Maintain strong customer service skills and the ability to learn and train others on computer programs.
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher in accounting, business, office administration, or a closely related field, with 2+ years of experience in administrative support or computer/network support.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with 4+ years of experience in administrative support or computer/network support.
- 2+ years as an AOT District Administrative & Technical Assistant III.
Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of office procedures and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with VAMIS.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve computer hardware and software issues.
- Experience with basic office equipment and maintenance.
