Anticipated Special Education Supervisor

MISTAFF is a collaborative effort of the Michigan Association of Intermediate School Administrators, Michigan Association of Superintendents & Administrators, Michigan Association of School Boards, Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals, Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association, and Michigan School Public Relations Association.

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced educational leader to serve as the Principal for our K-12 school community. The successful candidate will provide visionary leadership, foster a positive school culture, and ensure high academic standards for all students.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the school’s vision, mission, and strategic goals.
• Oversee daily school operations, including curriculum development, instructional leadership, and assessment practices.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for students and staff.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and community stakeholders to enhance student achievement.
• Manage school resources, budgets, and personnel effectively.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal education regulations and policies.
• Promote professional growth and development for staff through mentoring and evaluation.
• Address student discipline and behavioral concerns in alignment with school policies.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field (required).
• Valid Michigan Administrator Certificate with a School Administrator endorsement (or eligibility for certification).
• Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role (e.g., assistant principal, department chair, or curriculum coordinator).
• Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.
• Experience with school budgeting, resource allocation, and personnel management.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
