Position Details Type: Full-time, 12 month administrative position Start Date: August 2026Reports to: Butler High School Principal / Superintendent Qualifications New Jersey Standard Principal Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility (CE / CEAS) as a School Building Leader / Principal issued by the NJDOE.Minimum of 3–5 years of successful teaching and/or administrative experience.Demonstrated expertise in restorative discipline practices, CharacterStrong integration, and building positive school cultureFamiliarity with state/district assessment systems and NJ student attendance laws.Strong data analysis, administrative, and problem-solving skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills Key Responsibilities Student Discipline & School Culture Administer and uphold the High School Code of Conduct with fairness, consistency, empathy, and integrity.Implement proactive, restorative justice practices to foster a respectful, inclusive school environment.Investigate, document, and manage behavioral incidents (BTAM), disciplinary actions, and Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying (HIB) matters in compliance with district policy and NJDOE regulations.Partner with teachers, counselors, and support teams to create individualized behavior intervention plans. Attendance Management & Intervention Oversee high school attendance tracking, daily monitoring, and chronic absenteeism intervention efforts.Lead the Attendance Committee, implementing proactive strategies and incentives to boost daily attendance and reduce tardiness.Conduct parent conferences, coordinate truancy intervention plans, and work with district liaisons and community agencies when necessary. Assessment & Testing Coordination Serve as the Primary School Test Coordinator for all local, state, and standardized testing programs (NJSLA, DLM, ACCESS, PSAT, SAT, AP).Manage test security, scheduling, facility planning, testing accommodations (IEP/504), and staff training.Analyze assessment data alongside school leadership to help inform instructional decisions, identify growth areas, and close achievement gaps. Operational Leadership & Community Engagement Assist the Principal in daily building operations, supervision of lunchrooms, hallways, arrivals, dismissals, and extracurricular activities.Conduct staff observations and evaluations to support teacher growth and continuous instructional improvement.Communicate proactively and professionally with families regarding discipline, attendance, and general student well-being.Maintain accurate, timely student records and state reporting documentation in accordance with district policies and NJ law.Embrace school leadership as a true vocation, actively contributing to the overall culture and community of Butler Public Schools.
