Animal Services Administrative Assistant
About the role
The Wisconsin National Primate Research Center (WNPRC) is seeking an Administrative Assistant II to work as part of a dynamic and caring team of animal care professionals.
Responsibilities
- Sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures under general supervision.
- Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations.
- Maintains established methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic/physical records related to work operations according to established policies and procedures.
- Serves as a first point of contact for individuals and groups, provides basic organizational information via phone, in person and through other communication mediums, and routes more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities.
- Collects, analyzes, and prepares various communication materials from established sources utilizing technology mediums.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience in an administrative support capacity assisting a team or individuals.
- Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities while delivering results.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a High School Diploma.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a research or academic environment.
- Proficiency with meeting-related technology such as Microsoft Outlook and Teams, Zoom, and Doodle.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with Systematized Nomenclature of Human & Veterinary Medicine (SNOMED) coding protocols to accurately represent colony records information in a consistent manner.
