Animal Nutrition Manufacturing Management Track

About the role

Animal Nutrition MMT is a 12-month training position designed to develop future Manufacturing Supervisors, including Production Supervisor, Quality Program Supervisor, or Maintenance Supervisor roles within our Animal Feed Division. As a Trainee, you will be assigned to one of our Feed Plant locations to assist in leading overall plant activities, ensuring quality products and services for our customers.

Upon successful completion of the training program, relocation to another Purina plant may be required. Willingness to relocate after the training program is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Learn all plant processes, including regulatory compliance programs (safety and quality), maintenance, human resources activities, and managerial/administrative functions.
• Understand how production and program supervisors manage teams to meet volume goals, maximize yields, and minimize material loss while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Gain hands-on knowledge of job responsibilities, equipment, and materials involved in each production process.
• Assist in ensuring employees follow quality and safety standards.

Day in the Life

The MMT program answers the "how, what, and why" of feed manufacturing while providing learning opportunities and trainings to develop successful people leaders. The program follows a detailed training schedule guiding you through each step of the process at your manufacturing facility.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in feed science, animal science, ag systems/technology management, industrial engineering, ag business, supply chain operations, agriculture, or related fields, with an expected graduation date of winter 2026 or spring 2027.
• Demonstrated leadership in school, academic, or industry-related clubs.
• Willingness to relocate for the program and upon completion.
• Successfully completed the Land O'Lakes internship program (if applicable).

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to feed mills, manufacturing, or general production environments.
• Agriculture knowledge or background.
• Previous supervisory or leadership roles.

Physical Requirements

• Work in a manufacturing or warehouse environment involving walking, standing, and movement throughout the day.
• Occasionally to frequently lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Perform a variety of physical activities, including bending, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders, and climbing stairs or ladders.
• Operate heavy machinery and work in enclosed areas.
• Tolerate noise levels ranging from low to moderate.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, respirators, protective footwear, and uniforms.
• Work in cold and/or hot temperatures and dusty environments.
• Engage in productive and collaborative communication with co-workers.
• Work non-standard hours, including nights and weekends, and be available for overtime.

$70,000 per year.
