Animal Care Specialist (Minneapolis, KS)

Position Objectives And Purpose

The Animal Care Specialist is responsible for providing support to the breeding or farrowing department. Essential Functions tasks are dependent upon the department, but may include:

• Provide care for animals, ensuring they have access to food, water and a comfortable environment
• Assist with movement of animals
• Treat and vaccinate animals
• Maintain accurate documentation
• Absorb and maintain PQA certification status (provided on the job)
• Follow all Schwartz Farms Inc bio-security policies and procedures
• Exhibit strong teamwork, including working to achieve team goals, embracing new technologies, working on new projects, etc.
• Be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. with reasonable accommodation
• Exhibit integrity, care, excellence and discipline
• Advocate and engage in Schwartz Farm's animal welfare policy, including promoting animal well-being, remedying circumstances which impede animal care, and properly reporting instances of mistreatment or abuse
• Maintain and promote a safe working environment

Salary

$18.50 per hour
