Project Overview

Angela Ruscilli sought to modernize her stucco home along the Scioto River by addressing drafty, inefficient, and outdated wooden colonial double-hung windows, a builder-grade steel front entry door, and a dim sunroom with limited natural light. The goal was to enhance energy efficiency, achieve a bold contemporary aesthetic with high contrast, and improve functionality and brightness throughout the home.

Solutions Provided

• Windows: Replaced outdated double-hung windows with sleek white casement windows featuring interior screens for ease of use. Updated the grid pattern to a clean cross-grid design for a modern look. Exterior frames were finished in a rich dark bronze (oil-rubbed bronze tone) to create a striking contrast against the light stucco, replacing the old builder tan color.
• Sunroom: Installed large picture windows to maximize natural light. Replaced the old double doors with smooth sliding glass doors and added a French door to the backyard for improved access and flow.
• Front Entry: Upgraded the builder-grade steel door to a custom fiberglass entry door with a realistic wood-grain texture, finished in the same dark bronze as the windows. Added decorative sidelights and a transom window above for enhanced curb appeal.

Results

The home is now brighter, more energy-efficient, and visually transformed. Angela enjoys improved comfort, lower utility bills, and a standout contemporary look with the dark bronze frames creating a bold contrast against the stucco exterior. She was thrilled with every detail of the project.
