Anesthesia Technician
Main Function
Perform a variety of technical and supportive patient care tasks to assist attending anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists in performing anesthetic procedures for patients ranging from infancy to geriatrics.
Performs routine and delegated duties according to departmental processes and policies.
Orders and maintains anesthesia supplies, data enters anesthesia billing information, and troubleshoots anesthesia equipment.
Affords assistance to anesthesia and operating room staff in all anesthesia related matters.
Works effectively and efficiently under pressure in a stressful environment, and often without relief.
Uses professional communication skills in contacts with physicians and staff to interpret and report information.
Follows standard policies and procedures using judgment and minor decision-making.
Call is required for this position.

Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- 2 years of college coursework in biology, physiology, anatomy or related scientific fields preferred.
- American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technician Certification preferred or a willingness to complete within 5 years of hire.
- At least 1 year direct patient experience working in a hospital in a clinically related area, such as Nurse Aide, Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomist, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
- Familiarity with operating room etiquette, sterile technique and fields, and anesthesia techniques preferred.
