About the role
In this position you will be part of an established, multi-discipline team supporting various Naval Power programs by developing integrated logistics services / products including interactive electronic technical manuals (IETMs), configuration data management/logistics configuration records and supply support data. The selected individual will have the opportunity to collaborate with team members, receive coaching and early career support and work with talented professionals in support of shared objectives.
Responsibilities
- Support a wide array of duties supporting logistic engineering and collaborating with peers and internal customers.
- Create accurate logistics products based on source documents that include specifications such as S1000D, Military specifications, vendor data and engineering data.
- Responsible for development of technical data for Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) in accordance with the S1000D specification and other program guidance documents.
- Work extensively in the Enhanced Automated Graphical Logistics Environment (EAGLE) logistics product database to manage, develop and edit data based on engineering changes, new systems or upgrades to existing equipment.
- Research equipment/part data, technical/engineering data, perform analysis on the data and work with peers and team leads to format data into appropriate formats for IETMs/technical manuals in accordance with the contract specifications.
- Interface with team leads, other team members, team leadership and stakeholders from various disciplines such as engineering, waterfront teams and other internal customers.
- Support domestic travel up to 10%.
- Learn and understand a wide variety of data including but not limited to engineering drawings, parts lists, vendor data, technical manuals, rework instructions, change notices, Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Ship Change Documents (SCDs).
Requirements
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in technical writing or related field, to be obtained by the start date.
- Experience with MS Office Suite of products including Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint.
- Ability to meet physical requirements to lift up to 25 lbs. of weight when performing validation events in a shipyard environment on a US Navy ship.
- Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing documents using SGML, XML, HTML or other mark-up languages.
- Proficiency with MS Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (including automations) as well as Adobe Suite of products including Acrobat and Photoshop.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to provide clear, concise status of work progress on assigned tasking.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with ability to shift in dynamic environment to respond to customer needs.
Security Requirements
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- DoD Clearance: Secret.
- Active and existing security clearance required after day 1.
Pay
The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD – 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
