This job is a member of the Benefits Strategy and Planning Team within the People/HR Division. Responsible for analyzing, developing, recommending, and implementing health and well-being strategies to ensure market competitiveness and alignment with company goals. Additionally, the position is responsible for the strategic, financial and contractual management of health and well-being vendors plans and programs.
What you'll do
- Supports the development and execution of benefits strategy, with a primary focus on plan design analysis and implementation across pharmacy, disability, income protection, and dental, quantifying the cost and experience impacts
- Supports actuarial valuations by leading valuation data readiness and compliance activities by collecting, validating, and reconciling census data for AA medical active and retiree plans. Required data checks and status reconciliation to ensure accuracy
- Prepares and supports Form 5500, recognizing Form 5500 as a DOL compliance filing where late or inaccurate submissions can result in fines and noncompliance
- Develops and owns monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc reporting to create clear insights which can inform decisions by business leaders
- Evaluates competitive strategies and industry trends to determine impact on current or contemplated action plans
- Works cross-collaboratively with internal/external parties to synthesize large sets of data to initiate change and identify opportunities for improvement
- Interprets contracts, and works collaboratively to ensure plan provisions and contractual requirements are implemented, interpreted, and administered correctly
- Oversees vendor compliance and ensures all government regulatory requirements are managed within the plan policies and procedures
All you'll need for success
- Minimum Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training, 3 years of prior experience, proven experience in using data to analyze trends and budgeting
- Preferred Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience: Experience in health and well-being plans and program management, Knowledge of health and well-being industry trends, regulations, and best practices, Experience developing health and well-being program recommendations, Prior budget, forecasting and financial reconciliation experience, Experience with Form 5500 preparation and filing requirements
- Skills, Licenses, and Certifications: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc., Demonstrated analytical skills to run, analyze, manipulate, and maintain large data sets efficiently, Must be able to work independently and with limited direction to prioritize tasks under narrow time limitations, Project management capabilities, including managing multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholder initiatives; maintaining action logs and producing clear status updates, Strong communication skills, with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, Ability to influence all levels of management and vendors, Ability to achieve excellence: hold high standard of quality for self and others, SPHR, PHR and/or CEBS certification
