Analyst - Payroll
Position Summary
The Payroll Analyst plays a crucial role in driving the seamless, efficient, and accurate execution of payroll operations at Atlas Healthcare Partners. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this role serves as a subject matter expert, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and maintaining the scalability and efficiency of the payroll process as the company grows.
Essential Functions
Ensures accurate calculation and reporting of mandatory and voluntary withholdings and deductions.
Transmits payroll files for processing and performs payroll-related reconciliations.
Partners with HR Ops, Tax, and Finance teams to maintain a scalable and efficient payroll process.
Identifies and recommends process improvement initiatives and collaborates across departments to maintain accurate and efficient payroll operations.
Provides independent decision-making and judgment to address complex and non-routine payroll issues.
Communicates with employees of all levels regarding payroll-related matters.
Manages 401(k) contribution files, reporting, and auditing for accuracy and compliance.
Assists with fiscal and calendar year-end processes as needed.
Partners with the Payroll Manager to support Company mergers and acquisitions, ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
Develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
Interfaces with third-party payroll vendors.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of payroll experience, including multi-state payroll experience and payroll integration.
Experience with Dayforce Payroll System preferred.
Experience leading department-level projects, including process or technology changes, systems and organization integration.
Experience completing payroll-related due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
In-depth knowledge of multi-state regulations relating to payroll processing and understanding of GAP Accounting principles.
Ability to independently exercise sound judgment, use discretion, and manage sensitive and confidential information.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
Professional demeanor with the ability to maintain highly confidential data.
Highly effective communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across organizational lines.
Knowledge of HRIS, payroll, and timekeeping systems.
Ability to travel to the main office as requested.
Preferred Qualifications
Dayforce payroll experience preferred.
Healthcare industry experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
Multi-state payroll tax experience a plus.
