About the role
Under the direction of a Supervisor I in the Division of Maintenance and with guidance from a Maintenance Manager II, the Analyst II serves as the Maintenance South Region Contract Specialist and liaison with District Maintenance Position Management, Division Budgets, and Contract Manager. This role demonstrates a positive attitude and commitment to providing quality customer service that is accurate and timely. The Analyst II acts as the lead staff member responsible for the administrative functions of the District 6 Maintenance South Region Office.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Maintenance South Region Contract Specialist and liaison with District Maintenance Position Management, Division Budgets, and Contract Manager.
- Lead administrative functions for the District 6 Maintenance South Region Office.
- Provide accurate and timely customer service.
- Manage complex tasks with competing priorities.
Requirements
- Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a state-owned or leased vehicle.
- Statement of Qualification (SOQ) is required, detailing how your education, training, experience, and skills meet the criteria in the duty statement. The SOQ should be no more than two pages in length, using 12-pt Arial font, and address:
- Your experience, professional background, computer skills, and other qualifications related to the duties of this position.
- Your time management skills and ability to manage complex tasks with competing priorities.
- If basing eligibility on education, include unofficial transcript(s)/diploma for verification. Unofficial, original, or official sealed transcripts will be accepted and may be required upon appointment.
- Applicants with foreign transcripts/degrees must provide a U.S. equivalency evaluation report from a recognized agency (e.g., NACES or AICE).
- Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Analyst II exam. New or non-current state employees must be on the state examination list for this classification.

Pay
$6,031.00 - $7,775.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
Schedule
Permanent, full-time position with hybrid telework options.
Work location: Kern County.
