About the role
The Analyst II (Budget Analyst) performs varied and complex budget assignments within the Communications Division under the general supervision of the Supervisor I and Manager of the Resource Management unit. Primary duties include budget development and analysis, financial results tracking, projecting expenditures, reporting, fiscal monitoring, and contract administration. The incumbent may have lead responsibilities, assisting others within the Budget Office.
Responsibilities
- Budget forecasting, record-keeping, and reporting
- Oversight and monitoring of contracts to ensure fiscal accountability
- Conducting research, analyzing data, and creating reports to make recommendations to management
- Fiscal monitoring and financial results tracking
- Projecting expenditures
- Contract administration
Requirements
- Eligibility for the Analyst II classification (new to state service will be hired at the minimum salary)

- Must submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) addressing the following:
- Experience in fiscal management, including budget forecasting, record-keeping, reporting, and contract oversight
- Experience in conducting research, analyzing data, and creating reports to make recommendations to management
- Methods for organizing work and keeping management/stakeholders updated on work status
- SOQ must be in 11-point Arial font, single-spaced, and no more than two pages
- Completed State Examination/Employment Application (STD 678) with detailed employment history, duties, and supervisor contact information
- Resume is required
- If using education to meet minimum qualifications, submit transcripts or diploma (foreign degrees must be verified for U.S. equivalency)
Pay
$6,031.00 - $7,547.00 per month (excludes temporary reduction due to PLP 2025)
Schedule
Permanent, full-time position with hybrid telework options.
