Duty Statement

The incumbent performs a broad range of analytical tasks relating to budget balances, expenditure planning and projections, and federal grant financial and analytical support and development.

Responsibilities

  • Provides Budget reports monthly to CSTI Program Managers and ensures all elements of funding are communicated.
  • Supports statewide training, exercises, and education in emergency management, public safety, homeland security, hazardous materials, disaster recovery, and crisis communications for local, state, and tribal governments, emergency management personnel, and private-sector customers.
  • Performs a broad range of analytical tasks relating to budget balances, expenditure planning and projections, and federal grant financial and analytical support and development.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of financial systems and processes.
  • Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations regarding financial reporting and grant administration.
  • Collaborates with other departments to develop and implement financial strategies and policies.

Requirements

  • Ability to gather, compile, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Experience creating and maintaining databases, tables, and reports for program monitoring and decision-making.
  • Willingness to assume duties of various complexity and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for drafting professional correspondence and accurate reports and presenting information in a clear, concise manner.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of progressively responsible experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or related field.
  • Experience with federal grant management and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of emergency management and homeland security principles and practices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
