About The Team
The Financial Modeling Team is part of the Customer & Product Support (C&PS) department, sitting at the intersection of sales, customer success, and technical support. The team consists of finance professionals with prior experience in investment banking, equity research, and at least one of the following qualifications: Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Certified Management Accountants (CMA), or Financial Risk Manager (FRM). The team aims to understand users' financial data needs to provide solutions that enhance M&A and quantitative research workflows. They specialize in onboarding, customer adoption for Excel add-ins, and developing, converting, and validating financial models and library templates.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a world-class customer experience through custom model building for global clients.
- Ensure financial models are accurate, error-free, and reflect business operational complexities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams to help clients maximize value from product offerings.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of assumptions, methodologies, and formulas used in models.
- Perform rigorous testing to validate model outputs and verify formula integrity.
- Modify models to accommodate changing business circumstances, regulatory changes, or new data.
- Address complex financial challenges by creating innovative solutions within the modeling framework.
- Use Excel to produce high-quality models and reports for clients using the AlphaSense add-in.
- Create and present easy-to-understand models for clients.
- Deliver on predefined team targets with high quality and excellence.
- Partner with internal teams to help clients maximize the value from AlphaSense product offerings.
- Become an expert on the AlphaSense product by proactively learning and staying up-to-date on new features.
- Identify areas to improve content and contribute to creating and updating knowledge base articles, tutorials, and other support documentation.
- Work with product teams on new enhancements and features for the template library.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Postgraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or a similar field.
- Professional qualification such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or FRM.
- 1-3 years of client-facing experience as an intelligent, articulate, consultative, and confident professional.
- Deep and proven expertise in finance and experience building financial models in Excel, with the ability to interpret financial data and conduct analysis.
- Knowledge of basic accounting concepts and a solid understanding of financial analysis terminology and best practices, such as DCF and financial statements.
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to sift through large data sets to extract meaningful information.
- Excellent time management skills, including the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

- Customer-obsessed mindset with a passion for solving complex problems.
- Strong communicator with the innate ability to distill and explain complex issues in simple terms.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office suite products.

- Effective communication and presentation abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using CapIQ, Bloomberg, or similar Excel add-ins.
- Knowledge of VBA.
- Ability to handle ambiguity, proactively identify challenges, and present solutions.
- Interest in AI, technology, and software applications.
