About the Role

The Analyst I prepares and analyzes environmental samples using both standard and complex testing methods in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing America’s Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures. This role involves validating and reviewing data for accuracy, uploading laboratory data into the LIMS system, and ensuring compliance with environmental health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory procedures including batching and prepping samples, making reagents, and aliquoting extracted samples to maximize productivity.
• Prepares appropriate standards to ensure compliant data.
• Determines suitable routine and complex analysis methods for a wide variety of organic and inorganic samples.
• Operates, calibrates, and maintains laboratory instruments.
• Uploads data into the LIMS system for review and performs Level I review of data to ensure accuracy.
• Maintains logbooks and monitors refrigerator temperatures.
• Adheres to Eurofins Environment Testing America’s environmental health, safety, and quality assurance standards.
• Maintains housekeeping standards for the work area and inventories/stocks laboratory supplies.
• Orders supplies, washes and inventories glassware, and writes NCMs (Non-Conformance Memos) for quality assurance issues.
• Purges analyzed samples and assists in training new analysts on laboratory procedures.
• Assists in other areas of the laboratory as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: BS or BA in chemistry or related field OR 3 years of laboratory experience may substitute for degree.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in routine and complex laboratory procedures and instruments, preferably in a production environment.
• Previous production-oriented work experience is helpful (awareness and ability to meet deadlines).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (samples will be in coolers packed in ice).
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Professional working proficiency in English.
