Analyst, Business Process Improvement
About the role
Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable business process improvements. Researches best business practices, internal and external, to establish benchmark data. Collects and analyzes process data to initiate, develop, and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity, and reduced cost. Determines how new information technologies can support reengineering business processes. Leverages process roles and project management capabilities to deliver process organization, discovery, and improvement engagements, and enable technologies.
Provides specific functional expertise that is theoretical and conceptual in nature, typically acquired through a combination of university education and experience within a field. May have responsibility for supervising others in the capacity of a “player coach,” but primary focus is individual expertise. Applies working knowledge of theories, practices, and/or procedures within job discipline. Broadens capabilities and understanding of company processes and customers.
Performs mostly routine assignments and resolves common issues by using precedents or seeking guidance. Assesses straightforward problems and proposes solutions based on analysis of factual information, experience, judgment, and precedents. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Shares factual information with other team members. Receives guidance on a regular basis. Entry-level to UPS’s professional career track.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and measure the effectiveness of existing business processes.
- Develop sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable business process improvements.
- Research internal and external best business practices to establish benchmark data.
- Collect and analyze process data to recommend practices and procedures that enhance safety, productivity, and cost efficiency.
- Determine how new information technologies can support business process reengineering.
- Deliver process organization, discovery, and improvement engagements using project management capabilities.
- Provide functional expertise in process improvement, reporting, analytics, and operational excellence.
- Resolve common issues using precedents or guidance and propose solutions based on analysis.
- Collaborate with team members and share factual information to support operational decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Working knowledge of business process improvement methodologies and project coordination principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience with Microsoft Access, Power BI, or similar database and business intelligence tools.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to support operational and business decisions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team environment.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National, an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
- Candidates must be currently in the same geographic location or willing to relocate independently to Louisville, KY.
This is an entry-level to early-career professional role with an interest in process improvement, reporting, analytics, and operational excellence. The position is based in Louisville, KY and requires commuting to the office. Employer will not sponsor a visa for this position.
