Analyst, Alt Investments
About the Role
Act as the primary Alternative Asset Services contact for client relationship managers at Northern Trust for all client-related inquiries regarding alternative investments. Monitor, resolve, and respond to inquiries from internal and external parties, including pulling and interpreting data and preparing analysis to ensure client valuation expectations are met. Manage assigned daily tasks to meet day-to-day deliverables while working effectively in a team environment. Consistently review and assess processes to identify improvements for increased team efficiency. Actively participate in department projects and initiatives. Use initiative but refer complex problems to supervisors or experts.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for client relationship managers regarding alternative investments.
- Monitor, resolve, and respond to inquiries from internal and external parties, including data interpretation and analysis.
- Manage daily tasks to ensure deliverables are met in a team environment.
- Review and assess processes to identify and implement efficiency improvements.
- Participate in department projects and initiatives.
- Use initiative for problem-solving but escalate complex issues to supervisors or experts.
Requirements
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Office.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Capital Markets with exposure to Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Commingled Funds, Valuation Reporting, or Reconciliation Principles (finance or accounting background preferred).
- Work schedule aligned with Chicago office hours (start time: 6:30 AM or 7:30 AM, depending on Daylight Savings).
Qualifications
- A college degree is required; emphasis in Finance & Accounting preferred.
