About the role

Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–5:00 pm. Previous pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Emphasizes health promotion and disease prevention while assisting patients and families to move rapidly, uneventfully, safely, and effectively through their episode of care.
  • Delegates, oversees, and provides quality, safe, and developmentally appropriate patient care.
  • Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach.
  • Assesses individualized patient needs and plans, implements, educates, and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices.
  • Ensures clinic processes and workflows comply with regulatory and policy requirements.
  • Works closely with providers and other team members to ensure smooth clinic flow, addressing patient/parent concerns and attaining positive outcomes.
  • Documents according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Engages in the workplace community by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings, then reporting updates back to staff.

Education Requirement

  • Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited school.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred; must successfully complete BSN within five years of start date.

Licensure Requirement

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Experience

  • Three years of pediatric clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally: Handle biohazard waste, climb stairs/ladder, distinguish colors, drive motor vehicles (work required), work around electricity, fumes/gases/vapors, lift/carry 41–60 lbs, tolerate loud noises, operate machinery/power tools, push/pull 100+ lbs with assistance or 61–100 lbs, and have far/near vision.
  • Frequently: Bend/twist, handle blood and/or bodily fluids, administer chemicals/medications, work with communicable diseases/pathogens, judge depth perception, flex/extend neck, use hands for grasping/gripping/turning, operate patient equipment, have peripheral vision, push/pull 0–25 lbs, 26–40 lbs, or 41–60 lbs, reach above shoulder, sit, and squat/kneel.
  • Continuously: Use audible speech, operate computers, make decisions, maintain hearing acuity, interpret data, lift/carry 0–10 lbs, 11–20 lbs, or 21–40 lbs, solve problems, perform repetitive hand/arm use, stand, and walk.
