About the role

The registered nurse utilizes the nursing process to coordinate the interdisciplinary approach to patient care. Responsible for promoting and restoring patient's health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and team members; and providing physical and psychological support to patients and their families. Exhibits the core values of the organization: compassion, integrity and unity. Practices within the boundaries of the Kansas Nurse Practice Act, specialty standards, and organizational/departmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Consistently meets work schedule.
• Demonstrates critical thinking utilizing all aspects of the nursing process.
• Maintains a safe environment for patients.
• Coordinates health care services with hospital, vendors, physician's offices and other institutions.
• Answers patient/significant others phone calls, evaluates patient's needs, and triages patient care.
• Provides patient/family education using resources available.
• Acts as liaison between patient, significant others and health team members.
• Identifies area for professional growth.
• Participates fully as a member of the Patient Centered Medical Home Team.
• Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
• Other duties may be assigned as required.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• High School Graduate
• Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) – Single State (Kansas State Board of Nursing) or Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) – Multi-State (State Board of Nursing)
• Staff hired prior to 2/1/2024 are required to obtain a multistate RN license from the state in which they live at the time of their next RN license renewal by 3/31/2026.
• CPR / AED / BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 or more years of previous healthcare experience
