About the role
This position manages advanced practice operations, supervises staff, ensures compliance with standards, and provides direct patient care. It also involves leading health system research and teaching programs.
Responsibilities
- Health System Leadership: Overseeing the work unit, managing human and financial resources, developing and integrating advanced practice functions and systems.
- Clinical: Providing direct patient care, applying knowledge to clinical situations, participating in patient and staff education, demonstrating leadership skills.
Requirements
- Experience: Two (2) years of experience working as a clinical leader with direct reports.
- Licenses/Certifications: Valid California RN and Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner license, or Physician Assistant (PA) license; DEA within 3 months of hire; National Board Certification in aligned specialty; CPR.
- Education: Master’s degree, DNP, or PhD in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing, or master’s degree or PhD from an accredited PA school.
- Skills: Ability to cope with personal stress, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong operational skills, self-direction, organizational skills, ability to meet hospital credentialing and billing standards, strong knowledge of human resources practices, ability to guide, direct, mentor, train, and work collaboratively in a team building environment, strong interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Licenses/Certifications: Furnishing license if Nurse Practitioner; National Board Certification in aligned specialty; CPR.
- Education: Master’s degree, DNP, or PhD in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing, or master’s degree or PhD from an accredited PA school.
- Experience: Two (2) years of experience working as a clinical leader with direct reports; one (1) year of recent clinical experience in ambulatory care; experience managing advanced practice providers with ambulatory responsibilities.
- Skills: Ability to cope with personal stress, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong operational skills, self-direction, organizational skills, ability to meet hospital credentialing and billing standards, strong knowledge of human resources practices, ability to guide, direct, mentor, train, and work collaboratively in a team building environment, strong interpersonal skills.
Skills
Advanced healthcare leadership or business administration training such as a Master's degree in Business Administration, Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, or equivalent; ability to guide, direct, mentor, train and work collaboratively in a team building environment; strong interpersonal skills to explain procedures and to interact effectively with a variety of medical staff and personnel.
