About the role
This position works a 15-day “on” / 13-day “off” rotation and provides joint department leadership, along with a second Ambulance Dept Co-Leader, fostering a positive work environment, coaching department members in support of their professional growth, and allocating and managing resources.
Responsibilities
- Provides advanced emergency care in the out-of-hospital setting, including the evaluation, treatment, and transport of injured and/or ill patients of all ages per protocols established by the medical director.
- In the hospital setting, assists with patient care in the Emergency Dept and other hospital departments within established guidelines/policies, functioning under the supervision of a medical provider or RN in areas not specifically denied by State of Iowa Code applicable to Emergency Medical Providers.
Requirements
- Current Paramedic License or above required.
- A high school degree or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years of field experience as EMS personnel required.
Qualifications
- Previous EMS leadership experience preferred.
Skills
- Ability to provide advanced emergency care.
- Experience in both out-of-hospital and in-hospital settings.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills.
