AM / Morning Long term Care Cook

Responsibilities

• Aids in receiving and storing food and supplies to prevent waste and ensure quality products.
• Stores items properly and dates and labels them correctly.
• Uses proper food handling techniques.
• Reviews menus, therapeutic menus, recipes, and production sheets before preparing meals.
• Serves diets properly, accurately, and attractively as planned using proper portions and special diet items.
• Fulfills standardized recipes and special diet orders, preparing sufficient quantities to meet all service requirements.
• Tests and tastes foods of all consistencies for proper appearance, flavor, aroma, and temperature, adjusting as necessary.
• Supervises when needed.

Requirements

Experience in healthcare food service is preferred, but not required.

Qualifications

Knowledge of proper food handling techniques and familiarity with standard recipes and special diet orders is essential.

Skills

Attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and strong organizational skills are required.
