Responsibilities
- Ensure proper service from the front line through quality control and training of line cooks.
- Verify all items against recipe cards, ensuring adherence to use records and proper food presentation.
- Monitor line setup before meal functions to maximize efficiency during service.
- Maintain equipment and enforce the kitchen’s “clean as you go” policy.
- Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and portion standards.
- Start food items in advance, avoiding over-preparation based on estimated needs.
- Date and rotate food containers per SOP, ensuring proper storage temperatures for perishables.
- Check pars for shift use, determine prep needs, and manage freezer pulls and line setup.
- Note out-of-stock items or potential shortages and assist in keeping the buffet stocked.
- Return unused food items to designated storage areas, covering and dating perishables.
- Assist in correcting food cost issues, controlling waste, loss, and usage per SOP.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent.
- One to two years of experience in a related position.
- Knowledge of cooking practices and kitchen procedures to perform non-repetitive analytical work.
Physical Demands
- Regularly lift, push, pull, and carry items up to 70 lbs, including food cases and equipment (75% of the time).
- Periodic climbing and bending (e.g., using lower ovens 5–10 times daily).
- Full mobility to travel 30–50 feet regularly throughout the shift.
- Continuous standing during prep, service, or expediting.
- Ability to hear timers and communicate with staff.
- Visual acuity to ensure proper food preparation.
- Understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate effectively.
Work Environment
- 95% of the time spent indoors over an 8-hour shift.
- Exposure to freezer temperatures as low as -10°F and kitchen temperatures exceeding 100°F.

Pay
USD $20.00 per hour.
