Responsibilities
- Preserve the facility’s operational excellence through effective prioritization of operation, which promotes a high level of equipment reliability
- Ensures all AltaGas’ compliance, environment, and safety policies and practices are implemented and adhered to
- Follows defined processes and procedures to ensure the plant is operating safely and efficiently
- Performs all actions related to the operations of the plant
- Assists with the daily dispatch of the plant, operating 24/7/365 on a rotating 12 hour shift basis
- Performs routine inspections of watch
- Performs equipment troubleshooting
- Suggests continuous improvement projects
- Tests equipment to ensure productivity and performance
- Respects safety standards of the company and maintain a clean work environment
- Ensures all safety rules and safe work procedures such as Lockout/Tag out, Confined Space, and PPE are followed by themselves and by others working in and around the machinery
- Acts as a team player by assisting in ad hoc work, both in operations and maintenance, as it arises
Requirements
- Qualified candidates must have electrical, mechanical or I&C skills
- High School/GED required
- 3 - 5 years of relevant experience required
- Control Room Operator experience would be considered an asset
