About the Role
This fully on-site role in East Alton, IL supports the EA, WH, WY, and RE locations. The Alloy Engineer will own all metallurgical aspects of our product, focusing on high quality and low-cost routing logic. You will work closely with the Planning team to ensure accurate routing and documentation, and manage internal capabilities and metallurgical definitions to support process flow.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain in-depth understanding of metallurgical and manufacturing processes to achieve the highest quality at the lowest cost.
- Abide by ISO quality management system requirements.
- Develop and maintain RollGuide, supporting documentation, Feasibility, and Special Application systems.
- Provide accurate process logic to the Planning team and develop metallurgical routing for East Alton material.
- Collaborate with Planning and Technical Service to ensure all requirements are clearly defined before order entry for process accuracy.
- Support consistency in metallurgical processes for locations not currently in APGen.
- Understand primary customer markets and their metallurgical requirements to meet customer needs.
- Work with Technical Service and Sales departments across all RR locations.
- Lead project work on metallurgical routing improvements, emphasizing cost reduction, high yield, and customer satisfaction.
- Develop new Roll Guide IDs for all RR downstream locations as they integrate into the feasibility project.
Requirements
- Metallurgical engineering degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Pay
Base Salary Range: $104,900 - $113,800. May be eligible for a variable compensation plan bonus based on company performance within the fiscal year cycle. Final pay is determined by factors such as experience, industry knowledge, technical skills, education, and qualifications.
