AIT Technician – Vehicle Integration (Weekday Shift)

About the role

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the AIT Technician – Vehicle Integration will be responsible for the hands-on manufacturing and assembly of sub-assemblies essential for spacecraft vehicle integration. This role is on our Weekday shift (Monday - Thursday) from 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Follow detailed procedures to assemble complex electronic and mechanical modules.
• Operate hand tools such as screwdrivers, torque wrenches, and light power tools.
• Ability to quickly change priority while working in a fast-paced environment.
• Communicate statuses, issues, and suggestions effectively to the support engineering team.
• Update documentation and hardware statuses through online services.
• Perform basic avionics and electrical troubleshooting.
• Assist in spacecraft integration-related activities.
• Must possess a strong work ethic, be able to work with limited supervision, and meet the requirements of the attendance policy.
• Must perform all functions of the job in a safe and professional manner.
• Must keep work area(s) in a neat, clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Ability to stand for most of the working day.
• Perform miscellaneous lab duties, including kitting, inventory, and organization tasks.
• Perform other tasks/responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of professional experience working hands-on as a technician within electromechanical assembly or spacecraft/spacecraft hardware manufacturing.
• Experience with wire harness routing and/or space flight integration.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed work instructions for assembly and testing flight product including blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Proficiency with Windows 10, Microsoft Office products, and internet browser applications.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of soldering tools and practices (J-STD-001 certification preferred but not required).
• Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Familiarity with cleanroom cleanliness standards and ESD precautions.
• Must have excellent visual acuity to perform detailed inspections and quality control tasks.
• Ability to accurately distinguish a wide range of colors, which is essential for success in this role.
• U.S. Person or lawful permanent resident to comply with U.S. government space technology export regulations.

Pay

Salary Range: $28 USD - $37 USD (full-time positions only). Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on job-related qualifications, knowledge, skills, education, and experience.

Schedule

Weekday shift (Monday - Thursday) from 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

Physical Demands

An employee must meet the physical demands described to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. In performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely required to sit or stand for long durations of time, in addition to bending, reaching, and walking. This would require the ability to lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. This position is generally sedentary, with substantial computer usage.
