AIT Technician - EGSE (Weekday Shift)

About the role

Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced AIT Technician to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Director, Systems Integration & Test, the AIT Technician will be responsible for hands-on assembly, checkout, and maintenance of electrical ground support equipment (EGSE), test racks, and related infrastructure supporting spacecraft production.

Responsibilities

• Follow detailed procedures to assemble, integrate, and maintain EGSE systems and test rack equipment.
• Perform electrical checkout, verification, and functional testing of test racks and support equipment.
• Troubleshoot basic avionics, electrical issues, and EGSE system faults.
• Absorb wire harness backfill tasks including routing, termination, and installation.
• Operate hand tools such as screwdrivers, torque wrenches, crimp tools, and light power tools.
• Ability to quickly change priority while working in a fast-paced environment.
• Communicate statuses, issues, and suggestions effectively to the support engineering team.
• Update documentation and hardware statuses through online services and configuration management tools.
• Support spacecraft integration activities that rely on EGSE interfaces and test rack functionality.
• Maintain compliance with cleanliness requirements, ESD precautions, and safe handling of electrical equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of professional experience working hands-on as a technician within electromechanical assembly, spacecraft hardware manufacturing, or test equipment integration.
• Experience working with EGSE, test racks, or similar electrical support systems strongly preferred.
• Experience with wire harness routing, fabrication, and/or spaceflight hardware integration.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed work instructions, schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures.
• Proficiency with Windows 10, Microsoft Office products, and internet browser applications.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of soldering tools and practices (J-STD-001 certification preferred but not required).
• Familiarity with electrical measurement tools such as multimeters, power supplies, and continuity testers.
• Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Familiarity with cleanroom cleanliness standards and ESD precautions.
• Excellent visual acuity to perform detailed inspections and quality control tasks.
• Ability to accurately distinguish a wide range of colors, essential for wire identification.

Skills

• Strong understanding of quality control, AS-9100 standards, and electromechanical integration best practices.

Schedule

This role is on our Weekday shift (Monday - Thursday) from 6:00AM - 4:30PM.

Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
