Airport Security Officer: Part Time Patrol Access Control Badge Verification

About the role

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government transportation location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control, respond to alarms, and provide outstanding customer service. Using communication and technology skills, you will help maintain a secure environment for travelers, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, and airport personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established airport and government facility protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of terminal areas, access points, parking facilities, perimeter areas, and other assigned locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, access-control concerns, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel in accordance with site procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, and daily activities accurately and communicate relevant information to supervisors and/or emergency responders as needed.

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License (+1 years)
• 1+ years of Airport Security Experience
• 21+ years of age
• Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
• Ability to pass a background check, physical, and drug screening
• Ability to pass a background check according to the DOT Pass and ID office
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation and drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment

Qualifications

• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred
• Access control and badge experience is preferred
• Alarm panel experience is preferred
• Customer service experience is preferred

Pay

$28.75 / Hour

Schedule

• Saturday: 01:30 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sunday: 01:30 PM - 10:00 PM
