About the role
Filling multiple positions as Airport Operations Agents at the Colorado Springs Airport. Supports the safe, secure, and efficient operation of all airside, landside, and terminal areas.
Responsibilities
- Conduct airfield, terminal, and landside inspections to ensure compliance with FAA, TSA, and local regulatory requirements.
- Identify discrepancies and initiate corrective actions, including issuing maintenance work orders.
- Operate vehicles on airport movement and non-movement areas while maintaining required radio communication.
- Respond to all airport emergencies, coordinate responding services, and document activities.
- Maintain detailed written logs and prepare reports on significant events, communications, operational actions, discrepancies, and incidents.
- Support emergency response activities and staff the Airport Communications Center.
- Exercise critical thinking and sound decision-making to assess situations, determine appropriate actions, and resolve operational issues.
- Implement department plans and procedures during operational events, emergencies, and other situations requiring coordinated response.
Requirements
- Pass a fingerprint-based criminal history records check as required by TSA.
- Valid, non-probationary Colorado driver's license not subject to restrictions.
Qualifications
- Completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED).
- One year of full-time airport operations or administration, airfield maintenance, airline or FBO ramp operations and/or directly related military experience.
Skills
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations 14 CFR Part 139 and applicable FAA Advisory Circulars.
- Knowledge of Airport Security Regulations 49 CFR Part 1542.
- Ability to interpret and apply relevant FAA, TSA, and Airport policies, procedures, and operational requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively during emergencies and remain calm under pressure.
- Proficiency with standard office technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and database applications.
