About the role

The Department of Aviation seeks a skilled Graphic Designer to manage and enhance all public relations and advertising materials.

Responsibilities

  • Develops project timelines for various projects, adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Utilizes computerized desktop publishing systems to create designs and layouts for brochures, reports, and newsletters.
  • Coordinates the layout and design for the departmental newsletter, ensuring consistency with the visual brand.
  • Designs concept sets for updated advertising materials, updating designs as needed.
  • Develops and refines procedures to maintain high standards and integrity of the visual brand.
  • Interfaces with personnel from all areas of airport operations to gather information for layout and design.
  • Works independently or collaboratively with cross-functional teams to manage and develop multiple projects.
  • Creates public-facing presentations and campaign, event, and landscape photography that highlights department projects and culture.
  • Produces and edits videos for short and long-form content that showcases department programs and initiatives.
  • Manages and edits the Department's website using a web content management system and develops social media graphics for the Department's channels.
  • Acts as the official photographer for all Department events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Art, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of graphic design, drafting, or related experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Art, Graphic Design, or a related field; five (5) years of graphic design, drafting, or related experience.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of public relations practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Effective communication and interaction skills with management, other employees, and members of the general public.
  • Ability to assemble information and create clear, concise, and effective reports and documents.

Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of public relations practices, policies, and procedures as necessary in the completion of daily responsibilities.
  • Skilled in effectively communicating and interacting with management, other employees, and members of the general public.
  • Ability to assemble information and make graphic reports and documents in a clear, concise, and effective manner.
