Airframe Inspector, A&P

What You'll Do

• Inspects all types of aircraft (including engines, electrical instruments, structures, controls, environmental control systems, landing gear, accessories, etc.) before, during, and after maintenance
• Determines the serviceability of aircraft systems, parts, and components using precision measuring guides, gauges, instruments, measuring devices, magnification, and non-destructive testing (if appropriately certified)
• Accomplishes preliminary, hidden damage, in-process, and final inspection of all articles repaired, maintained, inspected, or altered by the facility
• Provides procedural guidance to technicians and delegated inspectors
• Trains and assists technicians in proper work procedures and practices
• Makes sure work in progress is done according to maintenance manuals, overhaul manuals, approved engineering documents, and other FAA approved data
• Documents inspection results in inspection paperwork and log books
• Completes final review of work order documentation prior to final release of articles
• Ensures that work performed is accurately reflected on the work order
• Researches logbooks, and prepares logbook entries and sign-offs for approval for Return to Service (RTS)
• Maintains up-to-date on scope of required maintenance and inspection for customers and coordinates efforts to ensure a timely turnaround

Position Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience as an A&P Mechanic performing heavy inspections on turbofan corporate aircraft
• Experience working in an MRO, overhaul depot, or heavy maintenance environment
• Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Prior experience performing return-to-service inspections on corporate aircraft
• Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) certification, experience or training
• CAE or OEM training on Challenger, Falcon, Embraer, Learjet, Gulfstream, or Hawker airframes
• Minimum of 5 years of verifiable A&P experience with any/all of the aforementioned aircraft
