Airframe Inspector, A&P
What You'll Do
- Inspects all types of aircraft (including engines, electrical instruments, structures, controls, environmental control systems, landing gear, accessories, etc.) before, during, and after maintenance
- Determines the serviceability of aircraft systems, parts, and components using precision measuring guides, gauges, instruments, measuring devices, magnification, and non-destructive testing (if appropriately certified)
- Accomplishes preliminary, hidden damage, in-process, and final inspection of all articles repaired, maintained, inspected, or altered by the facility
- Provides procedural guidance to technicians and delegated inspectors
- Trains and assists technicians in proper work procedures and practices
- Makes sure work in progress is done according to maintenance manuals, overhaul manuals, approved engineering documents, and other FAA approved data
- Documents inspection results in inspection paperwork and log books
- Completes final review of work order documentation prior to final release of articles
- Ensures that work performed is accurately reflected on the work order
- Researches logbooks, and prepares logbook entries and sign-offs for approval for Return to Service (RTS)
- Maintains up-to-date on scope of required maintenance and inspection for customers and coordinates efforts to ensure a timely turnaround
Position Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an A&P Mechanic performing heavy inspections on turbofan corporate aircraft
- Experience working in an MRO, overhaul depot, or heavy maintenance environment
- Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Prior experience performing return-to-service inspections on corporate aircraft
- Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) certification, experience or training
- CAE or OEM training on Challenger, Falcon, Embraer, Learjet, Gulfstream, or Hawker airframes
- Minimum of 5 years of verifiable A&P experience with any/all of the aforementioned aircraft
