About the role

Looking for the next step in your Aircraft Maintenance career? As a SkyWest A&P Mechanic, you will be a part of a fast-paced environment full of variety that puts your talent to work on our growing fleet of aircraft. Plus, new mechanics in Milwaukee (MKE), Chicago (ORD) and Salt Lake City (SLC) qualify for a $10,000 bonus with a commitment to work in that location for at least three years. Those with military A&P experience are also eligible for an additional $7,500 bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Work on the entire aircraft and effectively troubleshoot our growing fleet of CRJ200, CRJ550, CRJ700, CRJ900, and E175 aircraft
  • Troubleshoot all aircraft systems
  • Make critical decisions regarding aircraft safety in a timely manner
  • Perform all maintenance functions unsupervised, at any time
  • Manage all documentation and paperwork, including parts paperwork

Requirements

  • Meet all FAA and Safety Requirements
  • Hold a valid FAA-issued A&P Certificate
  • Possess good troubleshooting skills
  • Possess excellent communication and people skills
  • Possess problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Willing to work a night/third shift position, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Exercise good judgment in working with people in a team environment, as well as in aircraft maintenance and safety

Preferred Qualifications

  • CRJ and EMB experience
  • Be familiar with Company and Manufacturer Manuals

Physical and Other Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess a valid, unrestricted driver's license
  • Be able to read, write, and understand the English Language
  • Be able to comfortably lift 60 lbs. routinely with or without reasonable accommodation
  • This is a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive position
