About the role

The Aeronautics Systems sector of Northrop Grumman is seeking an Aircraft Structures Mechanic Level 4 to join their operations team in Clearfield, UT. This position involves aligning parts on jigs, performing part-fitting operations, measuring parts, modifying assemblies, and monitoring quality.

Responsibilities

• Aligning parts on jigs using templates and fixtures
• Performing part-fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming
• Maintaining and verifying quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
• Monitoring and verifying dimensions of parts with micrometers and calipers
• Modifying incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure

Requirements

• At least six years of experience working on aircrafts with a comprehensive understanding of the detailed aspects of the job
• Practical applications to problems and situations encountered in the field
• Limited supervision with few instructions for routine work and general instructions for new activities or special assignments
• Able to assist in orienting, training, assigning, and checking the work of lower-level employees

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• At least 6 years of relevant aircraft experience in manufacturing/production
• Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitive work, including bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 50 pounds, working overhead or at heights, and accessing small, confined spaces
• Active DoD Secret level security clearance and special program access required to start, but not required to apply
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, test procedures, etc.
• Ability to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends
• Pass the “ASTAR New Hire Training / Compliance” within a reasonable time period, as defined by the company to meet its business needs
• Pass a New Hire Physical Exam and obtain and maintain a respirator clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret level security clearance
• A&P License
• Previous composite, manufacturing, or production experience
• Demonstrated ability using standard measuring equipment and power hand tools
• Read and understand blueprints, technical specifications, and operating procedures

Pay & Benefits

The primary level salary range for this position is $62,700.00 - $104,500.00. Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
