Responsibilities
- Perform structural assembly, fitting, drilling, riveting, and installation operations on aircraft components and structures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, technical instructions, work orders, lofts, and sketches.
- Complete layout, fabrication, installation, and repair work in accordance with engineering and quality requirements.
- Rivet structural assemblies using a variety of hand and pneumatic tools while maintaining close tolerances.
- Remove and replace fasteners without damaging aircraft structures.
- Cookordination with Production, Quality, and Inspection teams to ensure compliance with company and FAA requirements.
- Inspect completed work to ensure defect-free assemblies prior to final inspection.
- Perform repairs and rework associated with DMTs, MRRs, and PCOs.
- Maintain required production and quality documentation.
- Mentor, train, and support team members in blueprint interpretation, engineering orders, and installation techniques.
- Assist in workload planning and resource coordination to meet production schedules.
- Support Lean initiatives, 5S standards, housekeeping, and all safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Six (6) years of related structural assembly experience.
- Experience with Solumina and SmarTeam preferred.
- Q-Stamp preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Strong knowledge of structural assembly techniques, tooling, and measuring devices.
- Ability to perform close-tolerance work and use specialized tools and equipment.
- Proficiency using mathematical calculations involving fractions, decimals, and whole numbers.
- Good computer skills and familiarity with related software applications.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and work stands and work in confined or restricted spaces.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 6 years related structural assembly experience.
- Experience working with Solumnia and Smarteam preferred.
- Q-stamp preferred.
