About the role
The Line Service Technician ensures safe ground operations and delivers exceptional client service at our FBO location. This hands-on role provides essential ground services for private aircraft while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and operational precision. The Line Service Technician is a front-line ambassador for the Jet Access brand, directly shaping the experience of every pilot, passenger, and aircraft owner who arrives on our ramp.
Responsibilities
- Marshal and park aircraft safely on the ramp using proper hand signals and established procedures.
- Conduct aircraft towing operations on the ramp and in and out of hangars with precision and care.
- Perform aircraft fueling operations following all safety protocols and quality control standards.
- Execute quality control procedures for fuel farms to ensure fuel integrity at all times.
- Direct and coordinate ramp movement for all arriving and departing aircraft, maintaining a safe and organized operations area.
- Provide concierge-level service to pilots, passengers, and aircraft owners from arrival through departure.
- Operate point-of-sale systems with accuracy, ensuring proper client billing and documentation on every transaction.
- Transport flight crews and passengers using follow-me vehicles and ground transportation in a safe and professional manner.
- Anticipate client needs and deliver personalized service experiences that reflect the Jet Access standard.
- Present and upsell services and amenities to enhance client satisfaction and support revenue growth.
- Operate tugs, trucks, and specialized ground support equipment safely and in accordance with all safety and operational standards.
- Sort, route, load, and unload packages and cargo from aircraft with care and accuracy.
- Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free ramp and hangar areas at all times.
- Inspect and report equipment issues promptly to support uninterrupted ground operations.
- Follow all environmental and safety protocols related to fuel handling, spill prevention, and chemical storage.
- Adhere to all FAA, TSA, and airport authority regulations governing FBO ground operations.
- Complete required documentation for fueling, towing, and ground service transactions accurately and on time.
- Maintain current knowledge of safety-sensitive position requirements and participate in all required drug and alcohol testing programs.
- Report any ramp incidents, near-misses, or safety concerns through proper channels without delay.
- Support compliance with all Jet Access standard operating procedures and audit-readiness at the FBO.
- Collaborate with fellow Line Service Technicians and FBO leadership to maintain smooth and coordinated shift operations.
- Communicate aircraft status, client preferences, and operational changes clearly to the team in real time.
- Participate in training programs, safety briefings, and skill development opportunities to advance competency.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct that reflects the Jet Access brand in every client interaction.
- Complete special projects and initiatives as needed, embracing opportunities to contribute to Jet Access's continued growth and success.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent.
- Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Proficient computer skills and ability to read and respond to email and point-of-sale communications.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Must successfully pass a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
- Deep alignment with Jet Access core values, especially a Safety First mindset and commitment to client excellence.
- Full-time, on-site presence at the assigned FBO location; this role cannot be performed remotely.
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, kneel, stoop, and reach for up to 8 hours per shift in outdoor ramp conditions.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, and precipitation.
- Valid driver's license required; must be eligible to operate ground vehicles on the airport operations area.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in general aviation and line service operations.
- Previous client service experience in a premium or high-touch service environment.
- Mechanical aptitude and interest in aviation equipment and ground support procedures.
- Familiarity with FBO point-of-sale systems and aircraft service documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining close attention to detail and safety standards.

Schedule
- Variable schedule aligned with airport and flight operations hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, and overnight shifts.

- Flexibility is essential as schedules shift in response to aircraft arrivals, departures, and client requests.
- Time discipline and reliable attendance are non-negotiable; the ramp runs on schedule and your presence keeps it moving.
Pay
Starting hourly rate $18.00 - $20.00 per hour, depending on experience. Overtime pay for all hours over 40 hours per week. This position is classified as FLSA Non-Exempt.
