We're hiring an Aircraft Refueler — someone who is dependable, safety-focused, and isn't afraid to get their hands dirty to support daily ramp operations in a fast-paced aviation environment. This is a physically active role responsible for safely servicing aircraft, operating ground support equipment, and delivering exceptional customer service. Schedule

Weekend shifts may be required after training. As a 24/7 operation, we have openings across all shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and 8-12 hour schedules. Candidates must be flexible and willing to work any shift based on operational needs. Overtime—both scheduled and unscheduled, including holidays—may also be required.

Responsibilities

  • Safely fuel and defuel aircraft in accordance with FAA and ATA 103 Standard, company, and industry standards
  • Test and calibrate fuel components, company special tools, and ground equipment per maintenance manuals, FAA regulations, and Ascent Aviation policies and procedures
  • Monitor bulk fuel storage: receiving, dispensing, inventory, and quality control
  • Maintain fuel farm and truck inspection records: daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual
  • Perform aircraft fuel sales to company, customer, military, and transit aircraft
  • Fuel and operate ground support equipment (GSE)
  • Inspect fuel systems and identify leaks or discrepancies
  • Test fuel samples prior to all defuel operations before transferring to truck or fuel farm system
  • Conduct daily inspections and basic maintenance of equipment and vehicles
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of ramp areas and workspaces
  • Follow all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and operational standards
  • Respond efficiently and professionally during high-traffic and time-sensitive operations
  • Perform miscellaneous duties related to aircraft fuel systems, including annual filter changes and hose replacements
  • Ensure customer requirements and needs are met
  • Escort and assist with parking of incoming aircraft
  • Support DOD aircraft by loading, unloading, and providing GSE support
  • Provide aircraft services including baggage handling, lavatory service, maintenance services, and forklift assistance
  • Provide taxiway upkeep
  • Assist personnel crossing active runway using radio communication
  • Safe-keeping rental cars for customers
  • Conduct runway and taxiway inspections, including FOD pickup and sweeping
  • Marshal, park, and reposition aircraft safely on the ramp

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Current valid Arizona driver's license with a clear driving record for the past three years required
  • Post-secondary education or training in aircraft refueling or airport support operations preferred
  • Experience in aircraft refueling preferred

Skills

  • Ability to organize and plan work while adhering to deadlines
  • Working knowledge of aircraft refueling techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and solid mathematical skills
  • Ability to read, write, and understand the English language
  • Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to safely drive and operate a standard shift vehicle and other applicable equipment
  • Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision

Physical requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
  • Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and reaching above shoulder level
  • Occasional crawling, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity
  • Corrected vision and hearing to normal range

Working conditions

The work location will include aircraft maintenance hangars, the flightline, and Avionics shop. Potential hazards include exposure to high intensity noise levels, extreme changes in temperature, electrical charges and radar waves, materials identified on the Safety Data Sheets, and working around moving machinery.

Equipment operated

Protective equipment required: Goggles, safety glasses, face shields, ear protection, apron, gloves, safety harness, breathing equipment.

Other duties

May be required to work at both Marana, AZ and Tucson, AZ locations as business needs dictate. Additional duties may be assigned at the discretion of department management.

Job functions may vary due to irregular working conditions or multiple shift positions.
