Aircraft Mechanic II - A&P

AAR is seeking experienced aircraft maintenance technicians (AMT) for onsite roles at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City, OK.

About the role

The A&P Technician II is ideal for experienced A&P maintenance professionals and veterans who may or may not have their FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant certifications, with a minimum of 5 years of aviation maintenance experience.

Schedule

Full-time, non-exempt, variable schedule with a 40–50-hour work week. Shift and days are determined by the supervisor but can be discussed during the interview process. Typically, more flexible candidates will be preferred.

• 1st Shift: 7:30am to 4:00pm or 5:30am to 4:00pm
• 2nd Shift: 3:30pm to 12:00am or 3:30pm to 2:00am

Responsibilities

• Able to perform intermediate/heavy maintenance tasks with little supervision
• Perform basic aircraft maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting tasks under supervision
• Ensure aircraft are safely maintained in accordance with Airworthiness Standards
• Use FAA approved/accepted data (e.g., IPC, M/M, OHM, SRM) proficiently
• Maintain records in compliance with FAA and company requirements
• Perform airframe repairs as assigned while meeting deadlines and quality standards
• Read and follow technical publications, schematics, and/or mechanical drawings
• Use a PC, iPad, and basic computer applications and programs
• Adhere to work schedule, punctuality, and self-motivation
• Additional job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• 5+ years of aviation maintenance experience
• Some general maintenance experience (including relevant experience outside of aviation)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Able to skillfully use the minimum tools required
• Fluent in English (speech, reading, writing)

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience with aircraft, including helicopters
• FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant license (A&P)
• Valid Driver’s License
• Knowledge of FAA regulations including 14 CFR

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Constantly: Lifting 10 lbs., standing, walking, wrist flexion and extension, environmental weather conditions
• Frequently: Lifting ≤ 40 lbs., push/pull <20 lbs., climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling for extended periods, working in confined spaces, working above chest-level, overhead, and away from body for extended periods, bending, twisting of torso, twisting and/or pressure with wrist/hands, fine finger usage, moderate vibrations up to 2 hrs. to high vibrations up to 30 mins
• Vision: with/without correction; near <20”, far >20’, and basic depth perception (shapes)
• Working at elevated heights ≥ 4’, working on ladders, scaffolding, uneven surfaces, and energized parts
• Occasionally: Lifting and/or carry ≤ 50 lbs., sitting, basic color vision, operation of motorized or electrical equipment, push/pull

Screening Requirements

Employment will be contingent on clearing a DOT drug screen, physical, background check, 3-year employment verification, 2-year DOT verification, and education verification. Must possess U.S. work authorization and pass E-Verify within 3 business days of start date. Must qualify for a Will Rogers World Airport badge within 30 days from start date.
