About the role
This position serves as a Composite Technician at DAS Aviation, responsible for repairing parts/components through wet layup and prepreg methods. Duties include using precision measuring tools, hand tools, and specialized equipment like hot-bonders. The role requires adherence to FAA guidelines and maintaining a customer-oriented attitude.
Responsibilities
- Repair parts/components using wet layup and prepreg techniques.
- Facilitate repairs in clean rooms using autoclaves or ovens.
- Utilize various bonding methods including co-curing, co-bonding, secondary bonding, metal bonding, and adhesives.
- Use close tolerance measuring tools and hand tools for precise work.
- Perform alignment/assembly tasks using jigs, templates, and fixtures.
- Operate shop equipment such as curing ovens, autoclaves, and vacuum systems.
- Maintain and clean shop facilities and equipment.
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Perform job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Journeyman: 0-5 years of experience as composite technician.
- Master: 5+ years’ experience as a composite technician.
- Airframe and Powerplant License is not required but welcomed.
- A valid driver's license for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal but not mandatory.
- Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable transportation to work daily.
- Follow all company and safety rules.
- Work according to FAA guidelines.
- Attend work every day as scheduled; overtime opportunities available.
Qualifications

Skills
- Close tolerance measuring tools (scales, micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, etc.)
- Hand tools (drill motors, die grinders, rivet guns, fastener installation tools, etc.)
- Pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment
- Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic
- Hot-bonder type machine cure procedures
- Basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases
- Effective communication (speaking, writing, reading) in English
