Air and Missile Defense (AMD) TIS SW Development Team Product Owner (PO)
About the Role
The Air and Missile Defense (AMD) TIS (Track Identification Services) Software Development Team Product Owner (PO) will work as a member of the Army Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office. The PO will prioritize and validate development software for the TIS team, which is responsible for the identification and classification of tracks in the Command and Control (C2) software.
The role includes reviewing and understanding Systems Engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms, and providing guidance to the development team. The Product Owner will collaborate with Program Management to set priorities for capabilities and defects for each product increment and sprint. The position also involves technical briefings and advisement to leadership on status, recommended courses of action, competing capabilities, performance, risks, and impacts on the IFMC mission.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize and validate software development for the TIS team.
- Review and understand Systems Engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms.
- Provide guidance to the development team on technical implementation.
- Work with Program Management to set priorities for capabilities and defects in each sprint and product increment.
- Conduct technical briefings and advise leadership on status, risks, performance, and mission impacts.
- Provide oversight to the development team and verify work based on acceptance criteria, including attending code reviews.
- Work directly with Agile software developers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, sciences, or mathematics.
- Minimum of 10 years combined Government/DoD experience performing the essential duties listed above.
- Good understanding of CID (Classification, Identification, and Discrimination) used in C2 systems, including IFF, ADS-B, Air Tasking Orders, and NCTR.
- Fluency in the Microsoft Office toolset.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance or higher.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS is a plus.
- Familiarity with current CID measures in one or more of the DoD services is a plus.
- Prior Product Owner experience on a SCRUM team is a plus.
