Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Software Product Owner (PO)

About the role
This position will work as a member of the Army Portfolio Acquisition Executive Fires (PAE Fires) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office (PO). The Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Software Product Owner (PO) is responsible for the prioritization and validation of development software for the Infrastructure Services & Libraries (ISL-2) team.
Responsibilities
- Review and understand Systems Engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms, providing guidance to the development team.
- Support the team in developing acceptance criteria for software updates and be responsible for their verification.
- Work with Program Management to set priorities for capabilities and defects for each product increment and sprint.
- Provide technical briefings, demonstrations, and advisement to leadership.
- Report on status, recommended courses of action, competing capabilities, performance, risks, and impacts to the IFMC mission.
- Work directly with Agile software developers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, the sciences, or mathematics.
- Minimum of 7 years combined Government/DoD experience in performing the essential duties listed above.
- Good understanding of at least some of the following: Ansible and/or other scripting languages; data logging and archiving best practices; weapon system component health & status reporting best practices; the DDS standard; C++ and Java code.
- Fluent in the Microsoft Office toolset.
- US citizenship.
- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance or higher.
Qualifications
- Knowledge in IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS is a plus.
- Experience in JIRA/Confluence is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate safety, engineering, risk, and technical information in discussions, documents, and briefings.
- Ability to interact professionally with customers, staff, contractors, vendors, government personnel, and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize multiple technical tasks.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining professionalism.

- Ability to evaluate system-level technical information and recommend practical solutions.

Schedule
Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, however, additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
