About the role
We are looking for an experienced AI Consultant to support a long-term contract opportunity in Shoreview, Minnesota. This role is ideal for a senior software engineering specialist who can design and build AI-driven applications that improve financial operations while working with enterprise data platforms. The consultant will help shape practical AI solutions, align development with organizational standards, and provide technical leadership across new application initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop AI-enabled applications that streamline financial processes and improve the use of enterprise data across core business systems.
- Lead the design of agent-based solutions using Microsoft Agent Framework, LangGraph, LangChain, or comparable technologies, with emphasis on scalable and maintainable implementation.
- Build custom cloud-based AI services, preferably within Azure environments, to deliver business-focused automation and intelligent workflows.
- Partner with business analysts and technical stakeholders to translate functional needs into dependable software and data solutions.
- Serve as the primary technical contributor for AI application development within the financial division, guiding solution direction and development standards.
- Create and optimize data pipelines and integrated datasets that support reporting, analytics, and AI model consumption across varied source systems.
- Contribute to data architecture efforts involving data warehouses, data lakes, or lakehouse environments to ensure reliable and sustainable data delivery.
- Support modern engineering practices by applying version control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps principles throughout the development lifecycle.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering, AI solution development, data engineering, or related technical disciplines.
- Strong hands-on experience with .NET is required, with Python highly valued for AI and automation development.
- Background designing or developing AI applications in cloud environments, preferably Azure, including custom AI service integration.
- Experience building agent-based applications with frameworks such as Microsoft Agent Framework, LangGraph, LangChain, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of enterprise data engineering concepts, including data modeling, pipeline orchestration, and working with heterogeneous datasets.
- Familiarity with data warehouse, data lake, or lakehouse architectures, along with experience using Snowflake in at least one production setting.
- Understanding of CI/CD, automated testing, version control, and scalable infrastructure practices for distributed data or application workloads.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across teams.
