About the role
We are looking for an AI Consultant to support the development of intelligent agent capabilities within legal technology solutions in Evanston, Illinois. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who combines hands-on experience with AI-driven software and a strong understanding of legal workflows. The person in this role will help design practical AI solutions while also enabling legal professionals to confidently use and understand the tools delivered.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and refine AI agent functionality for legal software applications to improve usability and workflow efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand legal process needs and translate them into effective AI-enabled solutions.
- Provide guidance and training to partners and end users so they can successfully adopt and apply the completed AI tools.
- Evaluate legal AI platforms and features, including tools such as Spellbook when applicable, to support project goals.
- Support discovery activities to identify business requirements, use cases, and opportunities for automation within legal environments.
- Contribute to the integration and practical use of AI software within broader enterprise systems and operational processes.
- Document solution approaches, usage guidance, and best practices to support long-term adoption and consistency.
- Monitor solution performance and recommend enhancements that improve accuracy, reliability, and user experience.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience working with AI software, preferably in legal technology or closely related environments.
- Background in building, customizing, or supporting AI-driven tools or agent-based solutions.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and deliver effective training to partners or business users.
- Familiarity with legal AI platforms; experience with Spellbook is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience gathering requirements through discovery sessions and converting findings into practical deliverables.
- Understanding of enterprise applications and operational systems, including ERP-related environments, is beneficial.
- Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Exposure to AI Ops concepts, EDI, Prophet, or Prophet 21 is considered an advantage.
