AI Automation Specialist
About the role
As an IT AI/Automation Specialist at Bio-Rad, your day will be a blend of innovation, collaboration, and hands-on problem-solving. You’ll dive into AI and automation projects that support IT operations, working closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement intelligent solutions. Whether you're developing machine learning models, optimizing processes, or experimenting with large language models, your work will directly contribute to advancing Bio-Rad’s mission in the life sciences and healthcare space. Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI and automation solutions that enhance IT functions such as data analysis, process optimization, quality assurance, and customer service.
- Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet real-world user needs and drive operational efficiency.
- Develop, test, and evaluate machine learning models using Python and relevant libraries to solve complex problems.
- Apply large language models (LLMs) to natural language processing tasks, contributing to innovative use cases across the organization.
- Document and present your work to share insights and build the IT department’s collective knowledge base.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, or automation projects (internships or academic projects welcome).
- Hands-on experience with Python and ML libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Familiarity with LLMs and natural language processing techniques.
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
This position must be based in California and requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office.

Pay
The estimated base salary range for this position is $107,900 to $148,400 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be based on several factors including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. This position is also eligible for a variable annual bonus, dependent upon achievement of individual objectives and Company performance.
