Breast Medical Oncologist AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, Kansas City Located in suburban Kansas City, AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is searching for a dynamic, energetic, and team-oriented fellowship-trained oncologist with a specialized focus in breast cancer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering cutting-edge, patient centered care to individuals diagnosed with breast cancer, while also contributing to general oncology services. We are looking to grow our subspecialty oncology programs in breast, thoracic, GI and GU.
Responsibilities
- Deliver cutting-edge, patient centered care to individuals diagnosed with breast cancer
- Contribute to general oncology services
- Rotate call with other physicians in the practice, including weekends
- Access to research, clinical trials, tumor boards and a multidisciplinary care team consisting of nurse navigators, dietician, social workers, oncology rehab, palliative medicine, and patient financial navigators
Requirements
- Board certification in Internal Medicine with subspecialty certification/eligibility in Hematology and Medical Oncology with significant experience and/or interest in breast cancer management
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients
- Strong communication skills
- Strong medical decision-making skills
- New graduates are encouraged to apply
- Physician team continues to grow around Gyn Oncology, Breast Oncology, Thoracic Oncology, Neuro Oncology, and other surgical oncology specialties
