SUMMARY
The Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) Operator maintains working operations of AGV systems. The Operator shall correct AGV malfunctions on the floor to support operations at the customer facility.
Duties
- Maintains a log of all faults/events during shift and submits them to the Team Lead.
- Inspects Industrial Personnel Carriers (IPC) at the beginning of each shift and records information on the safety check list.
- Reports any abnormal findings with IPCs to the AGV lead.
- Demonstrates professionalism in all communications with client management.
- Advises managers of any system discrepancies identified.
- Affords assistance with crane and conveyor operations on SmartSort and WinTMC equipment.
- Affords assistance with weekly preventive maintenance PM of AGVs as time allows.
- Provides information to AGV Operator on the next shift outlining any guide path/stop changes made during the shift.
- Understands and follows safety & environmental regulations and identifies safety/environmental concerns.
- Performs other duties as required within the scope of responsibility.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years’ of mechanic experience and/or education relating to the position
- Basic knowledge of computer and internet software
- Familiarity with electronic, mechanical and hydraulic repair
- Possession, or willingness to obtain, certification to meet OSHA standards
Physical Demands
- Stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Exposed to drafts, changing temperatures, and loud noise
- Exposed to irritations and discomfort from dirt, dust, and fumes
- Subject to cuts, burns, chemical irritations, bruises, electrical shock, and injuries from falls
- Follows prescribed safety practices and uses safety equipment such as protective ear devices, hard hats, hard-toe shoes, gloves, respirators, and protective clothing
